Derek Duncan has been working in Bay Area real estate since 2003 and has a history of contributing to the bottom-line performance of startups and multimillion-dollar companies. With a B.S. in Business Administration from Pepperdine, an MBA from the University of San Francisco, and a proven track record of leading and growing high-level teams in Silicon Valley, Derek not only knows the industry inside and out — he knows how to protect and maximize your most significant asset.

Attracted to real estate because of the tangible nature of the business and the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives, Derek offers clients the kind of respect, compassion, and optimism that makes the process seamless. With experience managing Alaska Native Corporation’s real estate portfolio — including 33,000 acres of land — he offers sound advice to buyers, sellers, and investors alike. He consistently closes transactions in minimal time, and clients appreciate his integrity and dependability throughout the partnership.

As a partner agent at Real Estate 38, Derek uses his strategic planning, negotiation expertise, and critical thinking skills to ensure that every client realizes the meaningful goal of owning property. He finds fulfillment in being part of a team that’s wholly dedicated to serving clients at the highest level.

As an Alaskan born and raised in Juneau, Derek honors his roots by sitting on the board of directors at the Goldbelt Heritage Foundation: dedicated to preserving the language and culture of the Tlingit, a Southeast Alaskan indigenous tribe of which he is a member. In his free time, Derek enjoys baseball, football, skiing, and hiking. He also loves being in nature with his wife Tamiko, their four children — Josh, Jared, Kaylah, and Riley — and Pepper and Onyx, their canine companions.
